Aarhus Airport poster

The airport was built as a military air station in 1943. After the war, the air station, then called Flyvestation Tirstrup, was taken over by The Air Force, and from 1946 part of it functioned as a civil airport. After World War II, it was decided to let the airport in Tirstrup function as a temporary airport for Aarhus, and since 1946 the airport has had a fixed route to Copenhagen.
